Minister Lajčák gives ambassadors of India and Slovenia a farewell reception
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, gave separate receptions today (16 August) to ambassadors of India and Slovenia on the occasion of the end of their diplomatic missions in Slovakia.
In the meeting with Ambassador of India, Param Jit Mann, the minister denoted the relations with India as friendly, problem-free and also free of pending issues that would hamper their future development, and thanked the ambassador for his personal contribution to their development. “The role of India on the global scale has been constantly growing. We are pleased that we can mutually cooperate not just on a bilateral basis but also at the international level, inter alia, also within international organizations including the United Nations,” said Lajčák who will visit India next week in his capacity as the next President of the 72nd UN General Assembly.
In the conversation with the Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Bernarda Gradišnik, the minister appreciated primarily her personal input in the development of economic and cultural cooperation with Slovakia as well as the active dialogue that she has engaged in with respective actors not only at the national but also at the regional levels. “Slovakia and Slovenia are natural partners who share the views on numerous issues of the European and international agenda. This is also attested by regular consultations at the level of diplomacy departments of both countries that we are planning to continue,” noted Lajčák while expressing his conviction that the scheduled official visit of the President of Slovakia to Slovenia next spring will present another impetus for development of mutual bilateral political and economic relations.
Minister Lajčák granted Ambassador Gradišnik the Golden Plaque of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs SR for her personal contribution to the development of Slovak-Slovenian relations.
