    Telegram of condolence to Baghdad

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák sent today (20 July) a telegram of condolence to his Iraqi counterpart Ibrahim al-Jaafari in relation to the bomb attack in the Iraqi province of Diyala last Saturday. I have learned with deep sadness and regret about the terrorist attack at the marketplace in the city of Khan Bani Saad north of Baghdad, leaving dozens of innocent people, including children, dead and many injured. This reprehensible terrorist act was committed when Iraqi people were celebrating the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. The cynicism of terrorism knows no limits, did not hesitate to misuse and change moments devoted to thanks, harmony and solidarity into grieve, pain and suffering.
