    Lajčák started his program in New York with bilateral meetings

    By meeting Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Riyad Najib Al-Maliki today (September 22, 2014), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák started his official program in New York. Their talks focused on issues related to the Near East Peace Process, with Minister Lajčák stating that Slovakia welcomed the ceasefire agreement that put an end to the 51-day military operations in and around Gaza, and mentioned the contribution of the Slovak Republic toward humanitarian aid relief. They also talked reinforcing bilateral cooperation, the concrete results of which were also evident in the decision taken last week to open the representation office of the Slovak Republic in Ramallah in premises shared with the Czech Republic.
