Mr. Sivacek was born in the central Slovakian town of Povazska Bystrica in 1968.

He holds a Master´s degree in international relations from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

Mr. Sivacek joined the Slovak foreign service in 1992. During his career he worked in various positions. Since June 2009 till June 2010 he worked as the Ministry´s Secretary General. His tours of duty abroad included service at the Slovak Embassies in Washington, DC and Tel Aviv.

In April 2011 Mr. Sivacek took the position of the Slovak Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Republic of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Since April 2012 he works for the second time as the Ministry´s Secretary General.
