    Economic diplomacy and branding dominated the Export and Investment Promotion Council meeting

    Today (August 20, 2014), the third session this year of the Export and Investment Promotion Council of the Government of the Slovak Republic – an advisory, coordinating and initiative body of the Government of the Slovak Republic for state aid involving international trade-and-economic cooperation and the presentation of Slovakia abroad – primarily focused on promotion of export and foreign investment inflow – was held under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák.

    Today (August 19, 2014), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák received Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Ihab Ahmed Talaat Nasr on the occasion of his diplomatic mission in Slovakia ending.

    Miroslav Šatan awarded Golden Plaque by Minister Miroslav Lajčák

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák welcomed Slovak ice hockey star Miroslav Šatan at the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry today (August 19, 2014). On the occasion of his approaching jubilee birthday, he presented the former ice hockey representative with the Golden Plaque for extraordinary international sport successes.

    Slovakia will help endangered civilians in northern Iraq

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák decided today (August 14, 2014) about providing humanitarian financial assistance to Iraq. Due to the ongoing ethnic, sectarian and religious violence perpetrated by the extremist group Islamic State on members of minorities in the region of Kurdistan, the number of dislocated persons is growing day-by-day and thus the humanitarian crisis is deepening.
