    Today (September 19, 2014), Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus to Slovakia Marios Kountourides.

    Minister Lajčák to visit United Nations Headquarters in New York

    On 21 September 2014 the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs Mr. Miroslav Lajčák will travel to the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

    At the invitation of the Chairman of the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Thomas Greminger, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčak left for a brief visit to Vienna today (September 18, 2014) where he gave an address at the OSCE Permanent Council session in the Hofburg Congress Center, Vienna in front of permanent representatives of the OSCE's 57 participating States and 11 partner States.

    Today (September 17, 2014), the 17th session of the Government Council of the Slovak Republic for Human Rights, National Minorities, and Gender Equity was held in Bratislava, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Council Chairman Miroslav Lajčák.

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák wrapped up his official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran today (September 16, 2014) with a meeting with former President of Iran Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, who is currently chairing the Expediency Discernment Council.

    Lajčák: “Slovakia endorses reaching Iranian Nuclear Program agreement”

    At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, is paying an official visit to Iran. Within the program today (September 15, 2014), he talked with Zarif as well as President Hassan Rouhani, and met with Allaedin Bourojerdi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Policy and National Security.

    Lajčák: “Ukraine looks toward reforms; Slovakia is ready to help with its expertise”

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák wrapped up his visit to Ukraine today (September 12, 2014). After talks with Foreign Affairs Minister Pavel Klimkin and Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko yesterday, he was received by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, and on the sidelines of the Yalta Conference he also met with President of the Republic Petro Poroshenko. In the talks Minister Lajčák accentuated the fact that the Slovak Government wants to see Ukraine as a stable, democratic and prosperous country.
