Our Mission

The Embassy of Slovak Republic in Delhi with jurisdiction and consular constituency in India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Our mission is determined by the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

We represent the Slovak Republic, negotiating with governments of accreditation states in areas of our mutual interest. We regularly inform our relevant departments about political, economic, social and cultural development in the above countries. We support development of broad and friendly relations and protect interests of our country and its citizens.

In consular agenda, we strive to eliminate illegal migration. Simultaneously we support trade, culture and sports contacts of citizens, institutions, academic community and companies.

Slovak Republic perceives India as a global power with significant economic and human potential, historically and regionally firmly anchored. With long-term economic growth, India's influence on global affairs is constantly increasing addressing current security and economic challenges.

Slovak Indian relations based on long tradition are developing in partnership and friendly atmosphere with a huge potential in every area of cooperation. Following a significant investment by Jaguar Land Rover, belonging to the TATA Group, Slovakia becomes an attractive country for Indian investors with high added value.

Slovak Republic supports negotiations of the European Commission on a Free trade agreement (Broad-Based Trade and Investment Agreement) and is interested in a balanced and ambitious agreement between the European Community and India. We constantly pay attention to development of bilateral cooperation and relations with Bhutan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka in accordance with interests of the Slovak Republic.
