State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, visited South India’s Bengaluru today (27 September) and held talks with leading officials from the local government and ceremonially opened the Consular Office of the Slovak Republic. This already is the third honorary consulate in the Republic of India and covers the states of Karnataka and Kerala and its role, besides providing consular assistance to Slovak citizens, will also be fostering the development of economic, trade and other contacts between Slovakia and India.
The goal of the working visit by the Slovak delegation led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, in India is boosting economic cooperation at inter-state as well as regional levels. State Secretary Parízek held several bilateral talks and introduced the delegation of Slovak business leaders from defence and energy industries on 26 September 2017. “We perceive India as an important regional player with the ambition to increase its influence within the globalized world,” noted State Secretary Parízek in the introduction to the working visit and added: “This country has extraordinary economic and human potential.” And the role of the Slovak delegation headed by Parízek is to bring specific results from the working trip.
New Delhi, India, 28 August 2017 – The President-elect of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Miroslav Lajčák, today concluded a two-day visit to New Delhi. While in the Indian capital, he met with H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India; H.E. Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs of the Republic of India; H.E. Mr. M.J. Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs of the Republic of India; and the United Nations Country Team in India, headed by the United Nations Resident Coordinator, Mr. Yuri Afanasiev.
Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, gave separate receptions today (16 August) to ambassadors of India and Slovenia on the occasion of the end of their diplomatic missions in Slovakia. In the meeting with Ambassador of India, Param Jit Mann, the minister denoted the relations with India as friendly, problem-free and also free of pending issues that would hamper their future development, and thanked the ambassador for his personal contribution to their development. “The role of India on the global scale has been constantly growing. We are pleased that we can mutually cooperate not just on a bilateral basis but also at the international level, inter alia, also within international organizations including the United Nations,” said Lajčák who will visit India next week in his capacity as the next President of the 72nd UN General Assembly.
