Slovakia and Spain wish an increased dynamics of business and economic cooperation

On 28 May 2012 Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Slovakia Félix Valdés y Valentín-Gamazo. During his introductory visit, the Spanish Ambassador presented copies of his credentials to Minister Lajčák. They expressed their wish to develop bilateral relations between Bratislava and Madrid with an accent on increasing the dynamics of business and economic cooperation. Besides bilateral relations, they discussed issues regarding EU policies and politics. "Slovakia, as well as Spain, is a strong advocate of Cohesion Policy," stated Minister Lajčák adding that the governments of both countries have a strong pro-European orientation. Within the talks, the situation in Serbia after the parliamentary and presidential elections was mentioned as well.
