On Monday, May 14, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Uri Rosenthal in Brussels, where he is attending the EU Foreign Ministers Council meeting within the Foreign Affairs Council. They discussed the joint presidency of Slovakia and the Netherlands within the Task Force for Tunisia. This initiative, dating back to July of last year, originated at the meeting of ministers at the Community of Democracies. Both ministers assessed possible cooperation in further steps within this initiative. “Besides supporting projects, our ambition is to contribute via our experience from the transformation processes, in which Tunisia is highly interested in, “ Minister Lajčák said during the meeting.

Last year, Slovakia supported three projects for Tunisia, each valued at €70,000, to support democracy and to strengthen the role of civil society. This year, there have been three projects of €300,000 each focused on the same topics.
