    Export and Investment Promotion Council of Government discusses TTIP and EXPO in Milan

    Bratislava (18 February) – The first meeting this year of the Export and Investment Promotion Council of the Government of SR was held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava on Wednesday. The meeting was chaired by Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

    Minister Lajčák receives Head of OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina

    Bratislava (18 February) - Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received Jonathan Moore, Head of the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Bratislava on Wednesday. The focus of the meeting was the current internal political situation in the country and shaping of new institutions at all levels of power after last October’s general elections. Minister Lajčák appreciated the role of the OSCE mission so far, which has significantly contributed to the restoration of peace, stability and security after the bloody civil war of the 1990s. “I believe the OSCE Mission is an important pillar for inter-ethnic trust,” stated the head of Slovak diplomacy.

    Minister Lajčák at OECD addresses international assistance for reforms in Ukraine

    Paris (17 February) – Ukraine needs strong international support in its reform effort and this assistance should be composed as broadly as possible and effectively coordinated at the same time. This was stated today by Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, during his visit to the headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.

    Minister Lajčák with Chinese Ambassador about continuation of top level dialogue

    In the premises of the diplomacy department today (16 February 2015) Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, and Pan Weifang, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Slovakia, met to jointly evaluate the recent visit by the head of Slovak diplomacy to China as well as to discuss continuation of the top level dialogue and development of universal relations between the two countries.

    Minister Lajčák in New York: “The UN is the most effective international diplomacy tool”

    “The United Nations Organization is and stays the cornerstone of the international order and the most effective world diplomacy tool,” stated Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, on Friday (13 February 2015) in New York in the premises of the International Peace Institute (IPI). Together with international diplomats, academicians, experts and journalists, he discussed the role of the UN in the era of new threats and challenges and the need to reinvest in multilateralism.

    Minister Lajčák at UN stresses interlink between security sector reform and development activities

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, co-chaired the session of the Group of Friends of Security Sector Reform at the UN Headquarters in New York on Thursday (12 February). The Group is an informal gathering of 39 countries and two international organizations with the aim to strengthen stability and promote development, especially in post-conflict and transition countries.
