    Minister Lajčák condemns terrorism during his visit in Pakistan

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, started his official visit to the Pakistan Islamic Republic today (9 June 2014). In talks with Sartaj Aziz, Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, acting also as the foreign affairs minister, upon whose invitation the head of Slovak diplomacy arrived in Pakistan, Minister Lajčák strongly condemned yesterday’s terrorist attack in Karachi which claimed almost 30 lives.

    Minister Lajčák: Slovakia seeks to develop political dialogue and economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, concluded his official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) today (8 June 2014) where he travelled upon invitation from his partner, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The ministers discussed deepening mutual relations including political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation, extension of the contractual and legal bases as well as cooperation in multilateral forums.

    Minister Lajčák: “Euro-parliamentarians not out of voters’ sight or minds will help us”

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, today (6 June 2014) in the premises of the diplomacy department gave the opening address at the conference “The EU in 2014: New Institutions, New Reforms?” that was organized by the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA) and the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic (MZVaEZ SR).

    Minister Lajčák: Society should address improving the quality of schools

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, today addressed the 2nd international conference Transformation of Vocational Education and Training with the subtitle “Employment for Every Graduate” which was organized by employers associated in the Government Council for Vocational Education and Training.

    Minister Lajčák receives German Ambassador Schmunk for a farewell visit

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received Michael Georg Schmunk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Slovakia today (5 June 2014) on the occasion of the conclusion of the ambassador’s diplomatic mission.

    Minister Lajčák appreciates Moldova’s and Georgia’s approximation process to European structures

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, participated in the foreign affairs ministerial meeting of the Central European Initiative (CEI) member states in Vienna today (3 June 2014). The event was organized by Sebastian Kurz, Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, whose country is presiding in the CEI this year.

    Minister Lajčák speaks on the issue of the Western Balkans in Vienna

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, participated in the Western Balkans Conference in Vienna upon an invitation from Sebastian Kurz, Austrian Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs today (3 June 2014). The heads of diplomacies of several EU member states as well as representatives of the Western Balkan region addressed the conference.

    Miroslav Lajčák, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, met with Msgr. Stanislav Zvolenský, President of the Bishops’ Conference of Slovakia and Metropolitan Archbishop of Bratislava in the seat of the Archbishop Office in Bratislava today (2 June 2014).
