    Slobodník: Good neighborhood relations with Austria can be extended to new areas

    Today (May 28), State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry Igor Slobodník talked with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Slovakia Helfried Carl on intense cooperation of Slovakia with Austria.

    Javorčík received Ambassador of Norway Inga Magistad

    State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry Peter Javorčík received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Slovakia Inga Magistad today (May 28). During their meeting, they discussed the progress in the talks between the European Union and the EEA (European Economic Area) countries, continuing the EEA financial framework and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism in 2014-2019, as well as opportunities for the cooperation with Norway during the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the EU in the second half of 2016.

    State Secretary Slobodník met with students from prestigious US University in Dallas

    On May 19th, 2015 State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Igor Slobodník engaged in the discussion with the students of the Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business from Texas, USA. Undergraduates of this prestigious university came to Slovakia to visit leading IT and research companies based in Bratislava.

    State Secretary Slobodník’s first working visit is to Ukraine

    Following up the so-far intensive working dialogue between the Slovak diplomacy department and Ukrainian partners and developing the discussion of relevant forms of assistance for transforming Ukraine was the objective of the visit by Igor Slobodník, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, to Kyiv on 14 and 15 May.

    Departments have their first discussion of the draft programme for the Presidency Trio

    First discussion of the draft programme of the Presidency Trio was the key point on the agenda of the 8th meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Council for Preparations for the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The meeting took place today (14 May) at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, the chief coordinator of preparations for the presidency. The Presidency Trio, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Malta, will successively preside over the EU Council from January 2016 till the end of June 2017.
