    Burian called for greater flexibility and coordination of financial resources for the Eastern Partnership countries

    At the Foreign Affairs Council (Development) in Brussels today (May 19, 2014), State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian endorsed the need for further discussion on the Eastern Partnership – also in the format of development ministers. As he said, the first occasion will be the informal meeting planned for July 14-15 in Florence during the Italian Presidency in the Council of the EU.

    Foreign Affairs Ministries of Tunisia and Slovakia signed Memorandum of Understanding

    State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian met today (May 15, 2014) with State Secretary of the Ministry of Tunisia Faysal Gouia. During the discussion, they searched for new opportunities and areas for developing bilateral relations between Tunisia and Slovakia.

    Security sector reform also at GLOBSEC

    Within the 2014 GLOBSEC international forum currently (May 14-16, 2014) taking place in Bratislava, a special panel focused on the role of international organizations in security sector reform was held on Day One. The event entitled Security Sector Reform: The Role of International Organizations in Supporting National SSR Processes was organized jointly by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF), and the Slovak Atlantic Commission (SAC).
