State Secretary Burian in Vienna discussed with Executive Secretary of the PC CTBTO on global regime for Nuclear-Test-Ban

In Geneva on Security Sector Reform

Peter Burian, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, discussed today and yesterday with his interlocutors about opportunities for future development of Security Sector Reform (SSR). During the meeting with Dmitriy Titov, UN Assistan Secretary-General for the Rule of Law and Security Institutions,partners agreed that the Integrated Technical Guidance Notes on SSR represent good base for improvement of UN missions´engagement on the ground in implementing SSR-related activities.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer on March 5, 2013. They discussed the current developments and challenges facing humanitarian aid in individual crisis areas in the world, as well as the role of the ICRC in solving them.

Peter Burian, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received Tomasz Chłoń, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Polish Republic to Slovakia, on 25 February 2013. Both partners reiterated a clear interest in further deepening Slovak-Polish cooperation in foreign policy during the meeting.
