The Slovakian feature film, BROKEN PROMISE, based on a true story, will be screened at The National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame and Museum, 74 Hauppauge Road, Commack, N.Y., on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at 7:30p.m. The main character is a Jewish boy, Martin Friedmann, born in 1926 in Banovce nad Bebravou who escaped deportation to a concentration camp thanks to his extraordinary soccer talent and some coincidentally favorable circumstances. Today he lives in Los Angeles in the U.S. and his name is Martin Petrasek. We shall learn from him in the film why he us using this name. The story is of interest to all generations.
Immediately following the film there will be a question and answer session.
