State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs SR, Lukáš Parízek, received the incoming Ambassador Designate of Canada to Slovakia, resident in Vienna, Heidi A. Hulan, today (3 October 2017). The reception on the occasion of presentation of copies of credentials was dominated by timely issues of bilateral cooperation and strategic EU-Canada dialogue.

The state secretary highlighted the very good standard of mutual political and security cooperation: “Slovakia and Canada are partners sharing similar views of solutions to the current international challenges. We especially appreciate the perfect cooperation with Canada within the OSCE where Slovakia will be the presiding country in 2019.”

In the context of the recent beginning of preliminary application of the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), the partners said they were in favour of continuing deepening economic and trade ties, an issue that will be among the priorities of the new ambassador to Slovakia.
