State Secretary Martin Klus Receives Ambassador of India Vanlalhuma

The key themes during the reception of the Ambassador of India to the Slovak Republic Vanlalhuma by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Martin Klus (May 20, 2020) revolved around the international community’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and current bilateral issues. 


Both parties offered their assessment of the current situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and reviewed the steps taken by their respective countries to prevent the spread of the virus. In light of the current outburst of infections, they shared their stance on the necessity to help the economy to recover and gradually start opening the borders. State Secretary Klus applauded the approach and assistance that India offered during the repatriation process of Slovak citizens.


The partners declared the mutually friendly bilateral relations, discussed the prospects for their further enhancement and confirmed their interest in intensifying political dialogue.


The working meeting also focused on complex bilateral issues including the revising of the contractual base, the mutual support for candidatures to international structures and current multilateral and regional issues.
