State Secretary Parízek at celebrations of the 25th anniversary of Slovak-German relations

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Slovak-German relations, Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, gave a speech within the celebration of Slovak-German Day  today (10th September).

 

In his address during the cultural program in the Bratislava center he appreciated the quality of relations between Slovakia and Germany.  He emphasized the common Euro-Atlantic direction and the sincere joint interest in the success of the European project which Slovakia is undoubtedly part of. He gave thanks for the long-term support of Berlin for Slovakia since the very beginnings of the Republic´s independence, not only in the period of transformational reforms before Slovakia joined the European Union. “Germany was the first country that recognized the Slovak Republic right after midnight 1 January 1993."

 

In the end Parízek emphasized the strategic cooperation between Slovakia and Germany in economic issues and culture as well as science and education.
