Bratislava (2 January) – The Presidency of the Slovak Republic of the Council of the EU was successful in all regards and presented a contribution to both the EU and to Slovakia. The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák and Slovak Government Proxy for the Presidency, Ivan Korčok, agreed on this conclusion at the evaluation press conference at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of SR in Bratislava on Monday. “I consider the Presidency of the Council of the EU a clear success”, stated Prime Minister Fico. He reported on the favorable evaluation of the Presidency’s performance and outcomes by top officials of European institutions, member countries and European media. He identified the launch of the Bratislava process – that has started the EU’s self-reflection following Britain’s decision to leave the community – as the most important outcome of the SK PRES.
