State Secretary Korčok receives the designated Ambassador of Finland

Ivan Korčok, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Plenipotentiary of the Government for the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union, received Helena Tuuri, the designated Ambassador of Finland to Slovakia, resident in Prague, who presented copies of her credentials today (2 September 2015).

The partners discussed the opportunities for further development of bilateral relations between Slovakia and Finland as well as timely issues on the EU agenda, especially the issue of migration and the Eurozone situation. Both stated agreement that their countries are interested in further strengthening commercial cooperation and increasing mutual investment volumes. State Secretary Korčok highlighted the achieved standard of bilateral relations in areas of science and technology with emphasis on Finland’s experience in innovation, research and development, also in the context of the planned official visit by the President of Slovakia to Finland.

The State Secretary also informed about preparations for Slovakia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
