State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek,  received Mark Bailey, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Canada to Slovakia, resident in Vienna, at a farewell meeting today (25 July 2017).
 

The state secretary in the introduction of their conversation congratulated his partner on the recent 150th anniversary of founding of Canada and thanked him for his successful three-year mission in Slovakia. He highlighted his contribution to bilateral political dialogue as well as to strengthening trade and economic interaction. The partners jointly acknowledged very good dynamics of bilateral contacts that have been translated also in an increase in the total trade turnover in recent years.  
 

Parízek equally positively appreciated the personal engagement by the ambassador and activities of the Canadian Embassy aimed at a successful completion of negotiations and the following signing of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between the European Union and Canada in October last year.
