Minister Lajčák received Nadja Hammarberg, Chair of Cultural Society of Milan Rúfus Friends in Sweden

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák received Nadja Hammarberg, Chair of the Cultural Society of Milan Rúfus Friends today (February 5, 2013). During the meeting, Hammarberg informed about the activities of this non-profit organization, seated in Stockholm. These activities are mainly aimed at supporting cultural cooperation between Sweden and Slovakia and the presentation of Slovak arts, and its work has brought concrete results in the form of cooperation in publishing the first collection of poems “Dotyky duše” (Touches of the Soul) written by the Slovak writer Jozef Leikert and translated by Hammarberg.

“Let me congratulate you on the title of the Most Successful Slovak Women Living Abroad 2012,” said Minister Lajčák, who also thanked her for her personal engagement and the ongoing activities of the Cultural Society of Milan Rúfus Friends in presenting Slovak culture in Sweden. Hammarberg has won the honor in the first year of the survey organized by the weekly Slovenka (Slovak Woman) and the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad.
