Opening of the exhibition „Art in Touch“ of three Slovak artists in New York, 19. 2. 2013Opening of the exhibition „Art in Touch“ of three Slovak artists, painter Alexej Vojtášek, sculptor Juraj Čutek and painter Mária Balážová was held in New York on February 19, 2013. The exhibition is part of the events marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic. The art show was organized by the Embassy of Slovakia in Washington, Consulate General of Slovakia and Slovak Permanent Mission to the UN in New York in cooperation with the organization Bohemian Benevolent Literary Association (BBLA).
The exhibition was opened in presence of the Slovak Ambassador to the USA Mr. Peter Kmec, Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the UN Mr. František Ružička and the Consul General in New York Ms. Jana Trnovcová. The opening was attended by 150 guests and was met with highly positive response. Visitors, compatriots, artists, representatives of the diplomatic and consular corps of New York alike particularly appreciated the presence of the artists themselves and the opportunity of meeting and talking to them.
Exhibit „Art in Touch“ was previously presented in USA on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic in Washington and Miami.
The works of the three artists will be on display in the gallery BBLA at Bohemian National Hall in New York till March 8, 2013. The exhibition is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10:30 am to 5 pm.
