Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the United Nations František Ružička opened on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the premises of the United Nations Headquarters a Photography exhibition to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, reminding the role of Czech and Slovak diplomats on the path to a contemporary multilateralism. The exhibition was inaugurated on the eve of the anniversary of the accession of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations (January 19th, 1993). 

Opening remarks were delivered by Mr. Edmont Mulet, Chef de Cabinet of the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mrs. Cristina Gallach, Under Secretary General for the Communicatons and Public Informations. 

Professor Stephen Schlesinger, author of „Act of Creation: The Founding of the United Nations“ and Dr. Slavomír Michálek, co-author of the Exhibition were special gust speakers at the opening. 

Exhibition was attended by more than 80 guests, diplomats, representatives of the Secretariat and young Slovak professionals working at the United Nations.
