The Permanent Mission of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations
At the final stage of his working programme in New York (28 September 2018), during the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, Miroslav Lajčák, the Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs met with Garry Allen, President of the Christian Mission for the United Nations Community.
Within the second part of his working program yesterday (26 September 2018), Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, attended the address given by Andrej Kiska, President of the Slovak Republic, during the General Debate of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly, as well as the meeting of the head of state with António Guterres, UN Secretary-General. He also held a series of meetings with several partners.
Yesterday (24 September), after having delivered his speech at the CEPA Forum, Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, participated in two events of a multilateral nature that were held on the margin of the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York. The first was a coordination meeting of the Visegrad 4 ministers of foreign affairs during which they discussed the plan for upcoming activities and priorities of the Slovak presidency over this Central European regional grouping.
Today was the closing session of the 72nd General Assembly of the UN which also marks the last day of the Presidency of Miroslav Lajčák, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia in the UN General Assembly. Outgoing President Lajčák handed over the gavel to his successor María Fernanda Espinosa Garcés of Ecuador during a ceremony held on 17 September 2018.
This week and next week Slovakia presents the Slovak Press Photo exhibition at the United Nations in New York. Through the lenses of the cameras of renowned Slovak photographers, also the delegates of other UN Member States and visitors of the UN Headquarters in New York are having an opportunity to look at Slovakia, at the world and at numerous relevant topics from a slightly different perspective.
