On 16 April 2024, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, received the Commissioner for Children, Jozef Mikloško in Bratislava. The Foreign Ministry is interested in intensifying cooperation in the field of child and youth protection in order to provide better protection and prevent cases threatening the rights of children abroad,

On 17 April 2024, the head of Slovak diplomacy Juraj Blanár signed an Implementation Protocol to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (SOSC) with its President, Anton Siekel, at the premises of the Ministry. The partners have thus symbolically agreed on active cooperation 100 days before the start of the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris, which will be held from 26 July to 11 August 2024.

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Marek Eštok, participated in an informal discussion of Foreign Ministers of the European Union Member States on the emergency situation in the wider Middle East via videoconference today (16 April 2023). He endorsed the EU's united response, which must actively contribute to calming the situation following Iran's unprecedented attack on Israel, and stressed the need for a return to the peaceful settlement of disputes.

17.04.2024 Turkey

On Monday, 15 April 2024, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, received the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Slovakia, Erkan Özoral. The head of Slovak diplomacy expressed his appreciation for Turkey's efforts to actively contribute to finding peaceful solutions to ongoing conflicts.

15.04.2024 Serbia

The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Nakic on his inaugural visit in Bratislava today (15 April 2024). The head of Slovak diplomacy expressed support for Serbia's Euro-integration efforts. The partners opened the topic of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina together with another current issue - Kosovo's potential membership in the Council of Europe.

15.04.2024 Norway

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Marek Eštok, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Slovakia Susan Eckey today (15 April 2024). The meeting between the representatives of the two countries, that are also allies in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, confirmed our good bilateral relations and opened the possibility for future cooperation.

Today (11 April 2024), the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, held talks with the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba during a joint meeting of the Slovak and Ukrainian governments in Michalovce, Slovakia. The counterparts discussed concrete support provided by Slovakia, especially in the field of humanitarian aid, infrastructure and energy as well as in the area of demining the Ukrainian territory.

The Slovak Republic unequivocally rejects the new European migration and asylum policy, the so-called Migration Pact, which includes the mandatory redistribution of irregular refugees. The Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, made this statement in the context of the draft legislative framework, approved by European MPs despite not having full support on Wednesday 10 April 2024.

10.04.2024 Hungary

Today 10 April 2024), the representatives of the Slovak Republic and the Republic of Hungary signed the minutes of the 15th session of the intergovernmental Mixed Slovak-Hungarian Commission for Minority Affairs in Budapest. The two sides agreed on 54 measures and recommendations in the fields of culture, education, economy and infrastructure aimed at improving the lives of Slovaks in Hungary and Hungarians living in Slovakia.

10.04.2024 Cuba

The Slovak Republic will help provide approximately 60 tonnes of skimmed milk powder for children during the difficult humanitarian situation in Cuba. Today (10 April 2024), the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba, Rafael Paulin Pino Bécquer, informing him that Slovakia will send a financial contribution of 200 thousand euros to the World Food Programme of the United Nations for the purchase of powdered milk on Monday.
