Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár held negotiations with Visegrad Group (V4) foreign affairs ministers in Prague today. After the joint session the ministers of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland agreed that V4 is still functional and the partners can cooperate on topics such as the European Union´s migration policy, enlargement of the Union as well as energy infrastructure.

The Visegrad Group marks its 33rd anniversary on 15 February 2024. On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, stressed the need for more agile cooperation in one of the important regional groups on the European continent.

State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry (MFEA SR) Marek Eštok paid a working visit to Hungary on 7 December 2023. In Budapest, he held negotiations with János Bóka, Minister for European Union (EU) Affairs and the Hungarian Prime Minister´s sherpa.

On 22 November 2023, the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Juraj Blanár, held talks in Vienna with Alexander Schallenberg, Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. The topic of the meeting between the ministerial partners was the current issues of bilateral and international relations, including migration and the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East. They also discussed European policy, the development of regional cooperation and support for the Western Balkan countries.

The current internal political and security situation in Kosovo, the dynamics in regional affairs, Kosovo's position on the EU's proposal on normalization of relations as well as the cooperation of the V4 countries with Kosovo, were topics of working dinner organized by the Head of the Liaison Office of the Slovak Republic in Pristina, Rastislav Kostilník, on February 13, 2023, as a part of activities of the Presidency of Slovak Republic in the Visegrad Group.

On the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Rome, the partnership agreement between the Academy of Fashion and Costume Design and the International Visegrad Fund (IVF) on the V4 fashion residency program in Milan has officially been signed in Milan today, 20 January 2023.

A seventh edition of Visegrad group countries film showcase is back in Riga after a two-year pause caused by the global pandemic.

Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Rastislav Káčer held negotiations with his European partners at an informal meeting on the occasion of the 77th UN General Assembly in New York on Monday, 19 September.
