Visas (for the nationals of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal & Sri Lanka)

In order to travel to the Slovak Republic, the citizens of India do need a Schengen visa (similarly the nationals of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka). The Schengen visa is a document showing that the traveller has permission to enter the Slovak Republic and other countries of the Schengen Area for a limited period of up to 90 days. The applicant may be granted visa for the purpose of tourism, business journey, family and study visit or any other purpose which does not require work or residence permit.

A Schengen visa may be valid for one, two or multiple entries. First time travellers are as a general rule given single-entry visa. Those, who have documented and adhered to the visa rules during previous travels to the Schengen area and have documented a need for several entries may be granted a multiple-entry visa.
