    Národné vízum sa udeľuje 

    • v súvislosti s udelením pobytu v Slovenskej republike;
    • ak je žiadateľ starší ako 15 rokov prijatý na jazykové vzdelávanie na jazykovej škole  v rozsahu najmenej 25 vyučovacích hodín týždenne;
    • ak je to potrebné na plnenie záväzkov Slovenskej republiky vyplývajúcich z medzinárodných zmlúv;
    • ak je to v záujme Slovenskej republiky;
    • rodinnému príslušníkovi azylanta alebo cudzinca, ktorému sa poskytla doplnková ochrana.

    Person applying for national visa in relation with accepting the language education on language school must submit document proving sufficient financial means and document proving accommodation too, if mentioned information are not stated in document supporting purpose of travel

    Note

    Slovak Embassy in Bangkok is allowed to ask for additional documents. On request of the Officer, applicant is obliged to participate on personal interview at the Slovak Embassy.

    Fees

    • 60 EUR - national visa necessary in connection to a residence permit
    • 35 EUR - national visa granted in order to comply with obligations arising from international agreements of Slovakia or if it is in the interest of the Slovak Republic
    • 10 EUR - national visa granted in relation to an already granted residence permit


    The visa fee is waived for:

    • spouses and children of EU citizens/nationals. The spouse must present a marriage certificate /duly translated into English language if necessary/ and valid EU citizen’s passport. For accompanying minors, birth certificates must be presented.
    • students, postgraduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake stays for the purpose of study or educational training;
    • researchers from third countries travelling for the purpose of carrying out scientific research as defined in Recommendation No 2005/761/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 September 2005 to facilitate the issue by the Member States of uniform short-stay visas for researchers from third countries travelling within the Community for the purpose of carrying out scientific research;
    • representatives of non-profit organizations aged 25 years or less participating in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events organized by non-profit organizations.

    The application will be processed within 30 days.

     

    Visa validity

    The visa is usually granted for a stay of more than three months, up to a maximum of one year. In connection with the residence in Slovakia, however, the visa is issued for 90 days only and the visa for language training is issued for the duration of language training, up to 31 July of the school year concerned. 

     

    A national visa shall also be granted to a family member of an asylum-seeker or an alien with subsidiary protection, for the necessary period of time.

    The national visa enables its holder to reside in the territory of the Slovak Republic during the period for which it was issued.

    The holder of a valid national visa may stay for up to three months in any six-month period within the whole Schengen area under the same conditions as a holder of a residence permit issued by one of the Schengen Member States.
