On December 10, 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a conference commemorating 25 years of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Slovakia.

In his speech, the State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs Lukáš Parízek highlighted Kazakhstan’s important role not only in the Central Asian region, but also in the international context: “I perceive Kazakhstan as a regional leader and a modern country which efficiently uses its own energy resources, develops its infrastructure and continually improves its business environment. Kazakhstan is a recognized mediator in the resolution of international conflicts. It is fascinating to observe how conscientiously the country has been progressing towards reaching its ambitious goal to become one of the most developed countries in the world.”

At the event, speeches were also given by the former Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič, State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Economy Vojtech Ferencz, and former Slovak ambassadors to Kazakhstan Peter Juza and Dušan Podhorský.

The event also featured the launch of the publication entitled Kazakhstan-Slovakia: 25 Years of Mutual Understanding and Partnership, which records the positive experience of both countries and highlights the open possibilities of broader collaboration. The book is intended for a wide range of readers, including diplomats, entrepreneurs, international experts, and students, as well as all those who are interested in the foreign policies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Slovak Republic.
