The Council discussed the status of support of the activities of compatriots in 2018, the situation regarding the issuing of certificates for Slovak nationals living abroad, activities of the relevant ministries in relation to compatriots, including the possibilities of financial aid and other kinds of support (for example, the participation of Slovak officials in compatriot events).  Regarding the current process of endorsement of Slovakia’s budget by the National Council of the Slovak Republic, State Secretary Parízek underlined: “If the prepared budget is endorsed, we could say that we have been gradually fulfilling Government Resolution No. 625/2008 and thus will increase funds allocated to the care and support of Slovaks living abroad”. Members of the Council also discussed the return policy and the possibility of the employment for our compatriots in Slovakia. State Secretary Parízek accentuated: “We cannot neglect our compatriots, and should they be interested in working in Slovakia, our common goal is to create the appropriate conditions for them to do so.”
