Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic today (11 May) received Victor Osipov, designated Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Slovak Republic (seated in Vienna).

They both appreciated the stability of the good relations between Slovakia and Moldova but also agreed that economic cooperation is still lagging behind its potential.

Parízek expressed support for Moldova’s European integration ambitions and attested to Slovakia´s support to the maximum degree in realizing the necessary reforms. He expressed his conviction that the last session of the EU-Moldova Association Council, where the resolve to continue in deeper political and economic integration with Moldova was confirmed, is another positive step towards gaining the trust of the European partners.

Parízek informed his partner about the process of preparation for Slovakia´s Chairmanship of the OSCE and the development of its thematic priorities. He also emphasized that the Slovak Republic would like to play an active role during its Chairmanship of the OSCE in restoring the Transnistrian conflict resolution process in the 5+2 format.   He also stated that Moldova has been one of three priority countries of the Slovakia´s official development aid since 2014  and it is in our interest to continue in realizing more projects in concrete areas.

Designated Ambassador Osipov thanked Parízek for Slovakia´s support in Moldova’s reform and European integration process as well as for the help Kishinev receives from Slovakia’s development cooperation.
