The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic engaging schools and NGOs in the Presidency of the Council of the EU

As of 10 February 2016, non-governmental organizations and schools can apply for grants from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic for events aimed at making the Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union more visible. The Presidency will start on 1 July and will last for six months.
 
The grants aim to engage the broad Slovak public and to present information and explore discussion on topics pertinent to the Slovak Presidency and the European Union to all the regions. The call is valid, for example, for public education events, seminars, conferences or workshops, and the applicants may involve schools, non-governmental organizations, citizens´ or interest groups or foundations.
 
“The Slovakia´s Presidency of the Council of the EU is a pan-societal event. We care that the Presidency and European topics are discussed not only in Bratislava but also in the regions, cities, towns and villages all over Slovakia,” said Ivan Korčok, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the European Union and State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry.
 
The deadline for submitting the applications is by 11 March 2016. The funds can be obtained for events of both individuals and legal entities to be held and completed by 31 December 2016 at the latest.
