Students of the Children’s University Visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

11.7.2019 | Aktivity štátnych tajomníkov

As part of the 7th year of the Children’s University of Economics, fifty-two students visited the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic (MZVEZ SR) today (July 11, 2019). State Secretary Lukáš Parízek welcomed them in the entrance hall of the MZVEZ SR and presented to them the network of diplomatic missions of the Slovak Republic abroad.

The students then visited his office and learned about the functioning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the diplomatic missions and the work of our diplomats. With regard to the topic of receiving foreign guests, gifts from different delegations were presented to the students.

The children expressed a very lively interest in diplomatic issues, which was reflected in a number of very specific questions. Almost every third student stated that when they grew up, they wanted to become an ambassador.

In the following, the young guests went to the Palugyay Palace, where they could see a demonstration of dining according to the dining etiquette and protocol.

The growing number of children who visit our ministry every year shows an increasing interest of the youngest generation in the work of the Slovak diplomatic service.
