At the invitation of Peter Mihók, President of the Slovak Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry of the Slovak Republic, Ingrid Brocková, attended a discussion with members of the International Chamber of Commerce today (24 June 2020).

“Unfortunately, the fact is that the latest prognosis by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic confirms a dramatic drop in the Slovak economy. However, the good news is that the current challenge is an opportunity for us. The plan of the recovery of the economies and the future Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union will create for us a space for the realization of crucial structural reforms, as well as infrastructure projects aimed at improving connectivity, green growth and digitalization,” recalled the State Secretary.

Also the diplomacy ministry has actively reacted to the changed conditions. “We come with a new offer for you in economic diplomacy. Our objective is less bureaucracy, more effectiveness, a greater concentration of resources for support, new interactive communication platforms, as well as cooperation with the stakeholders of economic diplomacy with the objective of the search for synergies,” emphasized the State Secretary.

“Economic diplomacy is one of the priorities and an integral part of the foreign policy of Slovakia. Our country needs to become more visible; we need to present to our partners stories of our flagships in innovation, as well as in traditional industry production. Therefore, we will attentively listen to you,” attested Brocková at the end of the meeting.
