It is Necessary to Continue to Extend the Open Relations between the Slovak Republic and Georgia

Lukáš Parízek, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, today (7 June 2019) received Sofio Katsarava, Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic.

 

During their talks Parízek confirmed the invariability of Slovakia’s policy towards Georgia. He expressed Slovakia’s support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the country. He also added: “The political dialogue is at a very good level. It is necessary to fully use this fact also to reinforce the mutual trade exchange".

               

The Chairperson of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, who is visiting Slovakia for the first time, expressed her gratitude for the comprehensive, long-term support from the Slovak Republic. During the talks she mostly drew attention to the situation at the administrative boundary line of Georgia with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which significantly complicates the lives of ordinary people. In this regard she appreciated the attention paid by Slovakia to this issue.
