During the visit, State Secretary Ružička presented the IOSU (International Organization for Support of Ukraine) with a humanitarian gift totaling €125,000 at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Kiev, with Slovak President Kiska in attendance.  This assistance is intended to be used for the rehabilitation of wounded soldiers who were fighting in the war operations in the east of Ukraine. On this occasion the State Secretary emphasized: “We have only one life, and we cannot give it back, and therefore the Slovak Republic has, by means of humanitarian aid, long helped the citizens of Ukraine affected by the conflict in their territory. We endorse the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, which is important for us as its neighbor.” President Kiska expressed his solidarity with the Ukrainian nation and emphasized that the Slovak Republic will continue to help Ukraine.  According to the program of the visit, the delegation will attend the presidential forum entitled, “Ukraine Remembers - the World Acknowledges,” held on the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor (Famine) in Ukraine, and later the commemoration ceremony at the Memorial of its victims.
