State Secretary Parízek and Egyptian Ambassador discuss key cooperation areas also within SR’s Presidency of OSCE

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs SR, Lukáš Parízek, received Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Slovak Republic, Amr Wafik El-Henawy, resident in Bratislava, today (10 January). The working talks focused primarily on the status of the contemporary bilateral relations and ways of intensifying mutual economic collaboration between Slovakia and Egypt. The state secretary of the diplomacy department noted in this regard: “The dimension of economic diplomacy is a priority to us. A quality set-up system of a contractual basis protecting investment and preventing double taxation of entrepreneurs is the foundation of a good and prospering economic exchange.”
 

State Secretary Parízek, in his capacity as the Special Representative for SR’s Presidency of the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (ESCE), laid out the priorities of the Slovak Chairmanship of the OSCE Mediterranean Partners, including Egypt as a partner, which is being chaired by Slovakia in 2018 within SR’s OSCE Troika obligations. He also pointed out that SR will intensify cooperation with Egypt as the key regional player in this regard, especially on issues of security and fighting against terrorism and increasing extremism.
 

Ambassador El-Henawy welcomed the activities targeted at promotion of economic relations. The partners jointly emphasized the very good standard of bilateral ties and expressed endeavouring to deepen economic cooperation also through organization of political talks and mutual official visits whose primary interest will be the development of economic cooperation.
