State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Lukáš Parízek, received the designated Ambassador of the Republic of India, Shri Vanlalhuma, on 5 March 2019.

They stated that the two countries’ mutual bilateral relations are friendly and discussed the perspectives for their further development, attesting to the high level of political dialogue. This is also attested to by the political consultations of the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mobashar Jawed Akbar in Slovakia last year.

In relation to the increased tension of the mutual relations between India and Pakistan, Parízek called for a stop to any further escalation and for the implementation of measures to prevent any further deterioration of the situation. “Terrorism cannot be tolerated in any form anywhere in the world,” emphasized Parízek.

Both parties also highlighted the results of the 10th session of the Mixed Commission for Economic and Trade Cooperation held in Delhi on 13 February 2019. In addition to special technology, India confirmed its interest in a cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, IT, space research, robotics, railroads, etc.

The working meeting also focused on issues concerning the planning of the upcoming high-level visits, the revision of mutual agreements and treaties, the mutual support for candidacies to international organizations, as well as current multilateral and regional issues.
