State Secretary Martin Klus in Talks with Tomáš Petříček, Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs, via Videoconference

State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Martin Klus, talked with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Tomáš Petříček.

 

The discussion focused primarily on the measures adopted by both countries in relation to the effort to stop the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic. The partners underlined the importance of mutual and regional coordination regarding the repatriation of their countries‘ citizens. “We appreciate the willingness and cooperation on the part of the Czech Republic in relation to their facilitating the return of Slovak citizens to our country. The Slovak Republic will also continue to provide the necessary help to the Czechs, be it concerning the transit of Czech citizens via the Slovak territory, the repatriation of Czech nationals back home, or the exchange of information between Slovak and Czech companies producing medical supplies,” Martin Klus stated.

 

The Czech partner also asked for cooperation regarding the land transport of Czech citizens from Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens from the Czech Republic to Ukraine. With regard to this the State Secretary expressed our readiness to provide for coordination of the respective competent state authorities.

 

The partners also exchanged information about the experience of both countries at present with the measures taken to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.
