The current state of mutual cooperation as well as the bi-communal dialogue under the lead of our diplomacy and the long-term mission of our peace-keepers in Cyprus -  these were among the topics discussed during the meeting of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Slovakia Nicos Nicolaus with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák today (5 November 2019). “Our diplomacy continues to offer a helping hand as a mediator of the dialogue between the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot political parties. The participation of our soldiers in the UNFICYP mission and the bi-communal dialogue on the island reflect Slovakia’s interest in reinforcing multilateralism to solve international issues including the Cyprus issue,” stated Lajčák at the meeting, during which the new Ambassador of Cyprus presented him with copies of his credentials.

The Cypriot diplomat expressed his conviction that during his upcoming diplomatic mission in the Slovak Republic, he will actively contribute to the deepening of the cooperation in the political, economic and cultural areas. At the end of the visit the head of Slovak diplomacy wished him the best in successfully meeting the goals of his diplomatic mission to Slovakia.
