Miroslav Lajčák Receives Departing Greek Ambassador

Today (5 September 2019), Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, received Maria Louisa Marinakis, Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, on the occasion of the conclusion of her diplomatic mission in Slovakia. The minister acknowledged the dynamics of the development of relations between the Slovak Republic and Greece at various levels. In this regard, he referred to the more intense interactions between Bratislava and Athens in the recent period. “The quality of our relations has also been demonstrated by our constructive cooperation in multinational forums, including the support of candidatures for international organisations,” stated the Chief Slovak diplomat. The minister also discussed with the Greek ambassador the development of cooperation in the spheres of economy and trade, including tourism and education.  To conclude the meeting, Miroslav Lajčák awarded Maria Louisa Marinakis with the Golden Plaque of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic for her personal contribution to the enhancement of the Slovak-Greek relations during her mandate in Slovakia.
