On Monday (October 7, 2019), a Slovak delegation took part in the opening of one of the most significant industrial fairs in Central Europe and the official exhibition of the Slovak Republic. The Foreign Affairs Ministry was represented by State Secretary Lukáš Parízek and Vojtech Ferencz from the Ministry of Economy.

For Slovak companies, the International Engineering Fair in Brno (MSV Brno) is the most significant event in Central Europe. The main themes of the fair and of the accompanying expert conferences are Industry 4.0 and Digital Factory 2.0, which refer to the digitisation of production as part of the broad processes of innovation.

As Lukáš Parízek stated at the official Slovak exposition, the role of economic diplomacy is to seek opportunities in the country of the mission and create there an eco-system of support for Slovak entrepreneurs. From a long-term point of view, Slovakia is the second biggest foreign exhibitor in Brno. This year, almost 100 Slovak companies attended the fair. The official exhibition of the Slovak Republic will present 25 SMEs from the area of engineering, automation and robotics, electrotechnics, information technologies, services, and science and research.

During the official opening, the Czech delegation led by the Czech Prime Minister, Andrej Babiš, visited the Slovak exhibition.
