Minister Lajčák Meets with his Latvian Counterpart Rinkēvičs

The latest elections to the European Parliament, as well as Slovakia’s Chairmanship in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and bilateral issues - these were the topics brought up during the talks of the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Miroslav Lajčák with the Latvian Foreign Affairs Minister Edgars Rinkēvičs held in Bratislava today (8 June). The Latvian head of diplomacy came to Bratislava to attend the GLOBSEC international security conference. 
 

 

The ministers also discussed developments in the EU, especially the latest EU elections.  “The recent European elections showed that the overall interest in EU politics is increasing, which is a good sign,” stated Lajčák regarding the voter participation in the EU elections. At the end of the meeting, the Latvian Minister Rinkēvičs positively expressed his appreciation for the activities and capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic in Latvia.
