Dušan DACHO, Dr. iur.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Moldova

 

Mr Dušan Dacho has assumed his duties of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Moldova on 28th November 2017. 

 

Earlier Mr. Dacho has served as Slovak Ambassador-at-Large for the Eastern Partnership (2013-2017) and the Representative of the Slovak Republic to Taiwan (2008 – 2013, rank of Ambassador). In the positon of the deputy head of Slovak diplomatic mission he served in Indonesia (2000 – 2004) and the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva (1994 - 1998). 

 

During his 28 years-long career in the foreign service of the former Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and later the Slovak Republic he worked in different positions from a desk officer to director of department and on different topics from security, to human rights to official development assistance and humanitarian aid.   

 

Mr. Dacho, after starting his studies at the faculty of law of the Comenius University in Bratislava, continued studying diplomacy, international relations and international law at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (cum laude), and later diplomacy and security at Stanford University, and security and cooperation at the NATO College in Rome. 


 
Mr. Dacho holds a Doctor of Law degree from the Comenius University in Bratislava.

 

Mr. Dacho was bestowed awards of merit for his contribution to peacekeeping (2008) and his contribution to the development of friendly relations between Slovakia and Taiwan (2013).  

 

Born in 1966, he is married and has four children.
