The opening of the unique international music competition at the Slovak Embassy in London

London, 22.10. 2019. The official opening of a new year of the unique international competition titled the "Film Music Contest Košice 2020" has been hosted at the Slovak Embassy in London. 

 

The event was ceremoniously opened by the Ambassador Ľubomír Rehák, who highlighted the importance of presenting the modern side of Slovakia during the 30th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution. He also expressed happiness regarding the opportunity to host the event, which showcases the Eastern metropole Košice in a renowned world metropole of London.

 

Film Music Contest Košice is a unique international competition for the creators of original film and television compositions, as well as composers, bands, musicians, producers, soloists in the field of instrumental, electronic and gospel music, without age restrictions, discrimination according to nationality or residence. The ultimate goal is to give the composers an opportunity to present their work and talent in an international competition and let it be reviewed by prestigious international judges, all of whom are acclaimed professionals from the field of music and film, such as Vlado Meller (USA) – an engineer of albums of artists across the globe, Ataru Mukaezato (Japan) – multi-instrumentalist, composer of film compositions, Lee Oskar (USA) – a harmonica virtuoso, acclaimed composer, and many others. 

 

The organisers of the event have chosen London as the important music Mecca of Europe, with the goal of presenting a unique project to the representatives of the British media and professionals from the field of music and film.
