Miroslav Lajčák Meets with Vladimír Titov to Discuss the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe

Today (23 May 2019), Miroslav Lajčák, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), met with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimír Titov. The main topics of the meeting were the current items on the agenda of the Slovak chairmanship in the OSCE and its effort to strengthen the role of the organisation in the area of conflict resolution. In this regard, the partners focused primarily on the situation in the East and South-East of Ukraine as well as on the possibilities of improving the living conditions of people in areas affected by the conflict. Miroslav Lajčák informed Vladimír Titov about the results of his visits to the OSCE participating states, including the most recent round of trips to the countries of the region of Central Asia.
 

The partners also discussed the possibilities for the further enhancement of bilateral relations. “Slovakia is interested in the enhancement of partner cooperation, with an emphasis on the areas of economy, investments and trade.  However, we also see the potential for further cooperation in the framework of international organisations,” stated the head of Slovak diplomacy in this regard. Miroslav Lajčák and Vladimír Titov also talked about current international issues, such as the developments in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
