The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava in collaboration with the University of Bergen / Grieg Academy organizes a unique international project under the name Norsk Musikk Meets Slovak / Slovak Music Meets Norsk.

The goal of the project activities resides in mutual recognition of Norwegian and Slovak music with accent on the work of 20th- and 21st-century composers. On 4–7 December 2017 a seven-member delegation of Norwegian artists visited Bratislava and in the period of 17–20 January 2018 a six-member Slovak group travels to Bergen. The event will consist of master classes for 25 Norwegian students who studied the pieces of Slovak composers, further workshops, and lectures on modern Slovak music in comparison with the Norwegian music. The project will culminate in a concert entitled Musica Slovaca at which the teachers from the Academy of Performing Arts will play Slovak music. The concert will take place at the Grieg Academy in Bergen in the Gunnar Sævig Hall (entrance from Nina Griegsgate 6) on 19 January 2018 at 6 p.m. (free admission).
