The mission of the Slovak Embassy in Riga is to develop comprehensively cooperation between Slovakia and the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania. Priority areas are deepening of the political, economic and cultural spheres as well as support for the development of personal contacts and relations between citizens. As Slovakia, Latvia, and Lithuania are members of NATO, the EU and the euro area, we believe that there is a natural potential to strengthen and unite our dynamically developing societies.

Slovak foreign policy is active towards these two countries. In addition to current European issues, we also share views on security challenges, which has culminated in the deployment of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence in Adaži. Cultural diplomacy has also its integral place in the daily work of the Embassy. By organizing cultural events, we strive to promote knowledge of our cultural heritage and natural beauty. Last but not least, we support Slovak companies that are interested in the Latvian and/or Lithuanian markets.

One of the key basic functions of the Embassy is also to serve our citizens - consular protection and assistance to Slovak citizens in Latvia and Lithuania. We therefore believe that Slovak citizens who find themselves in need or unsolvable problems will turn to us with confidence at any time.
