On 7 November 2018, František Ružička, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs received Naokazu Takemoto, Chairman of the Japan-Slovakia Parliamentary Friendship Group.


 
František Ružička highlighted the importance of the parliamentary dimension of cooperation and the friendly nature of Slovak-Japanese relations and welcomed the recent establishment of several Japanese companies on the Slovak market. The partners agreed that the success of the second summit of prime ministers in the V4 plus Japan format, which took place on 18 October 2018 in Brussels, has been proof of the significance that we attach to relations with Japan. Ružička: “The summit generated many specific impulses for further enhancement in our relations. Slovakia is interested in cooperation in the area of science and research, innovation, digitalization, and artificial intelligence - areas in which Japan has a leading position and is a pioneer in introducing new technologies.”
