On May 2 – in the framework of his working visit in Washington D.C. – the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini visited the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, where he commemorated the victims of the holocaust through a minute of silence and the lightening of a candle in the Hall of Remembrance. Sara Bloomfield, the Director of the Museum, welcomed the Prime Minister, who also met with 89-year-old Holocaust survivor, Ruth Cohen, born in the city of Mukachevo, then part of Czechoslovakia. P. Pellegrini also had a meeting with the representatives of the Jewish organizations American Jewish Committee, B’nai B’rith International, NCSEJ (National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry) and Simon Wiesenthal Center.
