The strategic mission of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic to the Holy See is the performance of Slovakia's foreign policy with respect to the Vatican and to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM). Among its political goals is promoting the dialogue and mutual cooperation focused on global political issues, the system of values in the society and protecting human dignity, but also fostering a more effective cooperation between the State and the catholic Church and social inclusion of the Roma people. The Embassy analyzes the activities of the Vatican diplomacy, especially in the Middle East, Balcans and in the conflict zones of Africa, but also in the UN and other international fora. With respect to SMOM, the Embassy concentrates mainly on a joint support of international humanitarian law, international humanitarian activities and certain joint projects in Slovakia.
